Discrimination & Oppression (e.g. identify discrimination, human rights)
Queer Asian Women might come across situations in their life that make them feel uncomfortable and disadvantaged due to the Sexism, Racism, Racialism, Heterosexism and Genderism that unfortunately still exist in the society. It become more likely nowadays that, these underlying attitudes and discrimination work in very subtle ways, for example, revealed through harassment, workplace bullying, etc., but significantly undermine the life quality of the members of our community.
Homophobia is the fear of homosexuals and homosexuality. Homophobia can be Internalized when one integrates negative ideas on homosexuality and turns the homophobia against her/himself and the GLBTQ community. Transphobia is the fear of those whose gender presentation or identity (or perceived) does not match in the socially acceptable way (the sex they were assigned at birth).
